The Bond Club of Philadelphia represents a wide cross-section of the Philadelphia investment community with all levels of seniority and aspects of our industry represented. Although originally founded by a cohort of bond practitioners, today our members represent the buy and sell-side of all asset classes, and firms ranging from global asset managers to local and regional boutiques. The diversity of our membership and our common curiosity in all aspects of the financial industry and each other, makes the Bond Club a special and unique organization. If you are interested in applying to become a member, please complete the application below and we’ll quickly be in touch.
The Bond Club offers a regular schedule of educational events which emphasize fixed income, economic, and general market related subjects. Past speakers include Dr. Mark Zandi, President of Moody’s Economy.com; Marc Chandler, Global Head of Currency Strategy at Brown Brothers Harriman; Dr. Patrick Harker, President of the Philadelphia Federal Reserve; Ed Finn, Editor of Barron’s; Dr. William Dunkelberg, Professor of Economics and Head of NFIB; Hank Smith, CIO of Haverford Trust Company; Tom Doe, President of Municipal Market Analytics; and “A History of the Philadelphia Investment Community” Panel.
The Bond Club hosts a series of social gatherings throughout the year. These events, as well as our educational presentations, offer members the opportunity to network and meet other investment professionals in the greater Philadelphia area.
The Bond Club has funded a 501(c)3 “Bond Club of Philadelphia Scholarship Fund.” Over the years, the Fund has awarded $2,500 to $5,000 to a local college student majoring in Finance or Economics and the opportunity for the recipient to meet with various Bond Club members at their place of work for a “behind the scenes” look at the business.
